英検３級リーディング問題は最後に「長文読解」が待っています。英語の長文を見ただけで苦手意識を持っている初心者も少なくはないのでは。しかし、英検３級の長文はとても簡単でシンプルな問題です。今回紹介する「裏技」を使うことで長文をほとんど読まずに満点を取ることができます。そんな魔法のようなテクニックを紹介します。
英検３級・長文対策「読まずに答えを見つけるコツ」
英検３級についてはこのブログで何度もテクニックや内容を解説していますが、出題範囲は中学校程度の文法と単語レベルが必須となります。しかし、長文を解く場合に必要なのは文法知識や単語力以上に、英検３級に特化した長文の解き方を身につけることであります。
英検３級の問題はほとんどの問題は長文を読まずに解答を導きだせるパターン化された問題が多いです。そのことを知ってしまうと、単語の暗記や文法を勉強することが少しばからしくなってしまいます。
本日は少し方向性を変えて、英検３級の長文を解くためだけに特化した裏ワザを紹介したいと思います。
英検３級「長文問題のコツとは？」
英検3級リーディング長文問題は以下の2つのステップを行うことで簡単にとけるようになります。
- step1:質問文を確認し、キーワードを本文中から見つける。
最初に長文を読むのではなく、質問文をまず確認します。質問文の中からキーワード（主に名詞）となる語を見つけます。 質問文のキーワードを見つけることができたら、そのキーワードを長文内で探します。キーワードと同じ単語または難しい問題になると似たような表現を見つけることになります。
- step2:キーワードの前後と選択肢から答えをみつける。
キーワードを長文内で見つけたら、そのキーワードの前後がその質問の答えとなります。その前後の文章と質問の選択肢(1〜4)を見比べて同じ意味または、同じ単語を見つけてください。同じ語句（単語）が一番使われている選択肢が答えです。
以上2つのステップを使うことで簡単に長文問題は答えを見つけることができます。
問題文（設問）の先読みは長文の得意な人であれば、いままでやってきたと思います。ただし、「ステップ２」の前後の文と設問の選択肢で同じ語句を見つける作業はしていましたか。
これをするだけで英検３級は本当に簡単に解けるようになります。ぜひ実践してみてください。では、例題を使って実際に解いてみます。

いきなり難しい問題に出会ってしまいました。本来ならキーワードと同じ語句を見つける作業だけでよかったのですが、キーワードの「keep」が見当たりません。実は「keep」は本文中では「take care of」で言い換えているのです。
ほぼ同等の意味なので、言い換え可能です。英検３級でこのレベルが求められるのは難問と思ってください。しかし、英検準２級からは長文問題はほとんどこのパターンなので覚悟しましょう。
では、ステップ2です。キーワードの前後と質問文の選択肢から答えを見つけましょう。キーワードを本文中に見つけたら、その前後の文をしっかり吟味しましょう。質問文の選択肢と同じ単語が含まれていないかチェックしてください。
選択肢「２」の「expensive」や「take care of」が前後の文にあります。その結果、「２」が正解と判断できます。選択肢に（１）にlive、選択肢（3）にpopularがありますが、正解の選択肢（２）のほうが前後の文に使われている語句が多い（語句の数）ので正解となります。
残りの問題もこの方法で簡単に解くことができます。自分の力でチャレンジしてみてください。解答は最初に紹介した記事「予想問題」で確認できます。全く解き方がわからない人はコメントください。

この「裏ワザ」を使うことで長文をまったく読まずに解答できるので時間短縮にもなります。2017年度より英検３級はライティング試験も導入されますます難化されました。少しでもライティングや他の問題に時間をかけたいと考えている人はぜひともこの方法を使って合格を勝ち取ってください。
